Hence, while there is speculation about the impact of major heavy duty lorries on the high street, without current factual evidence to back this up, we advise that this does not become a forum for that conversation.
Having said that, we do believe it is a big issue, but currently want to focus on the pressing need for financial support and compensation, particularly for the businesses and residents that have been hardest hit.

Also historical info on sand minning in the village can be openly shared, some villagers have to be hidding their old activities.

I have had a very restricted access and damaged my car getting into my gate (as have others) initially their were times when I had no access I am 88 years old and I have had to wheel my dustbins about 50 yards every eek for the last13 months I ask for a reduction in council tax and was refused I asked if my bin could be collected due to my age and the fact I had a stroke at the end of last year it was discussed with Biffa and refused also at the start of the sink episode i was without water for more than 2 weeks again I asked for some compensation from SES and again refused

For want of a fix the businesses closed.
For want of a fix the community was lost.
Godstone residents and businesses who have been directly and adversely affected by the collapse deserve an explanation and answers as to what caused the collapse, why the repair took such a long time, why communication was so hit and miss, who has taken overall responsibility for the loss of access to residents and businesses, what compensation and financial support will those affected receive and when? For those indirectly affected, those who queued to get in/out of the village, spent their hard earned cash on additional fuel and had no choice but to allow precious extra time for necessary travel to/from work, school, etc. Everyone in Godstone was affected and we deserve honest answers without further delay.
